Learn how to quickly shorten a URL directly from Safari, Chrome, or any browser on your iPhone or Android phone — no app download needed.

You do not need a dedicated app to shorten URLs on your phone. Alias works in any mobile browser — Safari, Chrome, Firefox — and the whole process takes about ten seconds. Here is how.

Shorten a Link on iPhone (Safari)

Open Safari and navigate to the page you want to shorten. Tap the address bar and copy the URL.
Open a new tab and go to alias.live.
Tap the URL box on the homepage and paste the link.
Tap Shorten. Your short link appears — tap Copy to put it on your clipboard.
Switch back to wherever you want to share it (Messages, Mail, Instagram DM, etc.) and paste.
